The Story So Far
Every since Affirmation was released and Savage Garden announced that they would be going on tour I had been excited and hopeful that I would get to see them live in concert! It's always great to see your favorite group perform, right??
Because North Carolina is not the most populated or popular place for concerts I was afraid that Savage Garden would not have any shows here were I could go see them. However they did fit in Camp Lejeune, NC into their tour.
Camp Lejeune may be in North Carolina as I am, but it's over 250 miles from where I live. I hadn't ever taken that long of a trip by myself before and to drive that distance twice in one day for a concert would be taxing.... However, it would be a small price to pay to see Savage Garden! 250+ miles is not to far to see them on tour.
Getting tickets was very difficult for me. TicketMaster did not selle the tickets to the Camp Lejeune show, nor did any vendors on the Internet. After several phone calls and many stops at local music stores I finally learned that tickets could only be purchased from the military base itself. Eventually I got two tickets to "Sand Jam 2000" in which Savage Garden was the featured performers.
Even when I got tickets I had trouble finding someone to take. None of my friends are as big a fan of Savage Garden as I am. After a while, I was able to get my cousin to agree to go with me since he at least likes some of Savage Garden's songs.
I had alot to do to get ready for the show. I bought a camera and film to take plenty of pictures of the concert to share with my Savage Garden fan friends online. I generated driving directions and got a map together so that I could get to the show. I made sure that my car was in the condition to take such a trip
It was a lot of trouble and a lot to do but that is ok! It's not everyday you get a chance to see your favorite group and all the trouble would be worth it for Savage Garden!
I would go To The Full Moon And Back to see Savage Garden!
